Toro Rosso has confirmed that technical director James Key has signed a deal that sees his contract extended. Key joined the Red Bull junior team in 2012 and is a highly respected figure in the paddock after serving stints at Jordan, Midland, Spyker, Force India and Sauber.

Key has been linked with a move to Williams in the near future, as the Grove squad are looking to improve its staff having already secured the figure of Paddy Lowe who joined earlier this year. However that speculation will now end with an announcement that Key was delighted to reveal.

“This is a team which I have great respect for and have thoroughly enjoyed working with for the past 5 years; now I look forwards to continuing our project into the future,” said Key.
