Sauber is hoping that it can announce a new team principal soon, following the unexpected departure of Monisha Kaltenborn. It was announced on Wednesday morning that Kaltenborn was no longer part of the team after taking the role of team principal in 2012.

Team Manager Beat Zehnder is overseeing developments in Azerbaijan this weekend, alongside Technical Director Jörg Zander. It is not yet completely clear who will take the position, with names such as Dave Ryan, Colin Kolles and Fred Vasseur linked with the role.

“Jörg Zander and myself have been entrusted to run the operation of the team this weekend, but this is only temporary,” Zehnder stated.
