14:40 – Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton cast doubt over his prospects of mirroring his 2014 recovery at the Austrian Grand Prix, as he prepares to line up from eighth place on the grid.

Hamilton received a five-place grid penalty due to an unscheduled gearbox change at the Red Bull Ring and is set to start from eighth spot, having qualified in third on Saturday.

Hamilton started from ninth position in the 2014 race, after a spin in qualifying, but was able to make progress and finished second to then-team-mate Nico Rosberg.

However, Hamilton believes Mercedes’ current pace, compared to its substantial advantage three years ago, means a repeat performance is improbable.
