7:46 – Honda has confirmed that it is to implement a revised technical structure, with Yusuke Hasegawa moving to a new position within the company, and Toyoharu Tanabe installed as its F1 chief.

Hasegawa took over from Yasuhisa Arai as Head of F1 Project at the start of 2016, after Honda’s dismal 2015 campaign, its first reunion year with McLaren, but fortunes dipped in 2017.

McLaren and Honda ultimately divorced, after the company’s revised power unit concept led to early struggles, with Honda consequently linking with Toro Rosso for 2018.

On Thursday, Honda confirmed that it has split Hasegawa’s duties into two separate roles, creating the position of F1 Technical Director and Operating Officer.
