9:24 – Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost says that Daniil Kvyat only “just missed” recovering his position after his engine stalled on the Canadian Grand Prix grid.

Kvyat qualified 11th but failed to pull away on the formation lap, leaving him in a race against time to catch and pass drivers when his engine was fired up again.

As per the regulations, drivers must be in position by the first Safety Car line (towards the end of the lap), and a charging Kvyat was narrowly behind Alonso at this point.

Kvyat was initially given a drive-through, with stewards then applying an additional 10-second penalty, which he served in the pits, moments before a terminal wheel-nut issue.
