16:28 – Haas’ Kevin Magnussen says the feel of the squad’s VF-17 on Saturdays did not suit his driving style through 2017, though is confident of addressing the issue heading into next season.

Aside from the Sauber drivers, Magnussen was the only full-time racer who failed to progress through to Q3 in 2017, a feat team-mate Romain Grosjean managed on five occasions.

Magnussen believes that the VF-17’s handling across one-lap cost him in qualifying, but higher fuel loads and harder tyre compounds addressed the balance in race trim.

“I think it’s been my best year, especially on Sundays, but this year hasn’t been my strong year in qualifying,” Magnussen explained.
