11 June 2017 – McLaren emerged victorious during the return of Formula 1’s Raft Race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Saturday evening.

Under the sport’s new owners, Liberty Media, the jovial event at the former Olympic Rowing Basin, situated adjacent to the paddock in Canada, was resurrected.

Each entry was given 45 minutes in order to build a raft, with seven team members permitted, and all but three Formula 1 teams took part.

Ross Brawn and Sean Bratches also spearheaded separate teams, as did the sport’s governing body, the FIA, while the event promoters also entered a raft.
