14:42 – Sergio Pérez says his inability to capture a podium finish in 2017 “takes away something” from his season, despite finishing as the highest-placed midfield driver in the championship.

Pérez claimed podiums with Force India in Bahrain in 2014, Russia in 2015 and Monaco and Azerbaijan in 2016, but failed to add to his trophy collection in 2017.

Pérez placed fourth in Spain, fifth in Canada and Singapore, and classified seventh overall in the standings for a second successive season, amassing 100 points in the process.

However, the Mexican conceded that the absence of a rostrum result counted against 2017 being regarded as his best season.
