11:13 – Renault chief Cyril Abiteboul lamented a fruitless Hungarian Grand Prix for the team as Nico Hülkenberg and Jolyon Palmer got “caught in quite a procession”.

Hülkenberg, having finished sixth in Britain, again led the chasing pack behind Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull at the Hungaroring, placing seventh in qualifying.

However, a five-place grid penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change meant he started 12th, two spots behind Palmer, who narrowly missed out on Q3.

Palmer, having darted to avoid the spinning Daniel Ricciardo at Turn 3, initially led Hülkenberg, as the pair ran 11th and 12th, before moving aside for his faster team-mate.
