16:19 – Toro Rosso has confirmed that James Key has extended his contract to remain as the team’s Technical Director.
Key, 45, began his Formula 1 career with Jordan and graduated to the role of Technical Director under the team’s various guises (Midland/Spyker/Force India), before switching to Sauber.
Key, who joined Toro Rosso in 2012, is highly rated within the Formula 1 paddock, and has now committed his future to the Faenza-based outfit.
“This is a team which I have great respect for and have thoroughly enjoyed working with for the past 5 years; now I look forwards to continuing our project into the future,” said Key.
