Sergio Perez says that no podium finish during the 2017 season takes something away from his achievements throughout the year. It marked the first year since 2013 that the 27-year-old failed to finish within the top three at some point during the season.

Force India wrapped up fourth place in the constructor’s standings for the second year in a row, and Perez ended the season in seventh place – the same as 2016. Despite scoring points at all but three races, Perez admits that no podium takes away some shine from his results.

“Well if you look back at last year, last year was a really good strong year for me,” said Pérez.
