It is understood that AKK Motorsport, Finland’s motorsport governing body, is to undergo a feasibility study in the interest of possibly posting a Finnish Grand Prix. The governing body is also said to be looking for help and support from the country’s Ministry of Education and Culture for the idea.

Despite former champions Keke Rosberg, Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen all hailing from the country, Finland has never actually hosted a Grand Prix, however particular interest has recently come about due to the news that a round of the MotoGP will be hosted in Finland in 2020 at the Kymiring, which is situated about 160km from Helsinki.
