8:46 – F1 teams applied their first major update kits of the season at the recent Spanish Grand Prix. GPUpdate.net’s technical analyst, Craig Scarborough, runs through some of the key developments so far.

Every season follows a pattern for the design and development teams; there’s the launch specification for the new car, then the first race specification. Thereafter, the richer teams might pencil in some flyaway race updates, but largely the first short haul round is the target for major car updates. With the Spanish Grand Prix traditionally taking this spot in the calendar, the familiar Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has seen the biggest car updates of the year.
