12:11 – Sauber has announced that Mercedes junior Pascal Wehrlein will represent the team in the 2017 Formula 1 season, alongside Marcus Ericsson, completing the squad’s line-up for the upcoming campaign.

Wehrlein raced for Manor during his rookie year in the sport and claimed a point in Austria, and has replaced Brazilian Felipe Nasr at the team.

Wehrlein’s move to Sauber all but completes the 2017 grid, with Mercedes poised to recruit Valtteri Bottas from Williams, and Felipe Massa set to come out of retirement.

“I am very delighted at being a part of Sauber for the upcoming season,” he said.
