It has been announced that Fernando Alonso will do a demo run in his Alpine F1 car at the Le Mans 24 Hours this weekend.

Alonso is a two-time winner of the world-famous endurance event, and he will take to the Circuit de la Sarthe in a Formula 1 car, which is likely to be a car from the team’s Renault days due to rules restricting the running of current F1 cars, during the race weekend at Le Mans.

His run will be a part of a wider showcase for the Alpine racing division at the circuit, as team-mate Esteban Ocon is set to go behind the wheel of the A110 GT4 car.
