Antonio Giovinazzi wants to avoid comparisons with Charles Leclerc and just focus on himself and his own development.

Leclerc’s first season in Formula 1, with Sauber, enabled him to make the jump up to partner Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari in 2019 after a very impressive rookie campaign.

But Giovinazzi is not necessarily aiming to make the same sort of impact as Leclerc did because his predominant aim is to be his own man and learn for himself.

“I didn’t speak much to him about this jump, I want to focus on myself,” said Giovinazzi via Motorsport.com.

“I don’t want to repeat Charles’ results this year or improve his results – my target is just to do the best I can on my side.
