Romain Grosjean has said he has safety concerns over the new standing start rule being introduced to Formula 1 this season.

The lead driver used to dictate the pace of the rest of the field once the Safety Car peeled away back to the pits but, under new FIA ruling, the grid will now perform standing starts once the track is green.

Drivers have been able to practice their standing starts at the end of the pit lane and on the pit straight at the end of testing sessions, but Grosjean is not convinced the method is a particularly safe one.
