Brendon Hartley won’t be taking up a role as Ferrari’s test or simulator driver; that’s according to the New Zealander’s father.
Axed by Toro Rosso at the end of the 2018 season, Hartley was left without a race drive for the upcoming season.
He has, however, been linked to Ferrari with Italy’s Corriere dello Sport claiming he is a leading candidate to replace Daniil Kvyat as the Scuderia’s test driver.
“It’s just rumours,” Hartley’s father Bryan told Newshub.
The 29-year-old has already re-signed with Porsche for the 2019 season, rejoining the factory driver programme.
According to reports his contract does give him room to explore Formula 1 options should any arise.
