Renault have confirmed Robert Kubica will take part in a second test for the team “to extensively evaluate his driving capabilities”.

After completing a private 115-lap test for Renault in Spain, Kubica has remained quietly confident that he can make a return to Formula 1 despite the rally accident which left him with a partially severed arm.

And the Pole will get another opportunity to impress, this time at the Paul Ricard circuit in France and in the same E20 car.

“Whilst the first day of testing at Valencia was no more than to let Robert get reacquainted with the feel of driving again,” said managing director Cyril Abiteboul.
