AlphaTauri’s Daniil Kvyat crashed out of the British Grand Prix in a spectacular incident at Maggots on lap 13.

The Russian’s car smashed into the barriers at Silverstone and while he initially sat motionless in the badly damaged car, he was fortunately seen walking away seemingly uninjured.

Kvyat was racing in clear air at the time and Martin Brundle, co-commentating on Sky Sports, suspected a right rear puncture had launched the AlphaTauri into a spin before it speared into the armco.

The former Red Bull driver nevertheless apologised to his team over the radio and demonstrated his unhappiness by pushing away a TV camera as he left the scene of the accident.
