Haas’ Nikita Mazepin is looking forward to testing himself through COTA’s high-speed Sector 1 at the United States Grand Prix.

After a season away from the Formula 1 calendar, the United States Grand Prix returns for 2021 and for Mazepin it means a first experience of Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.

As the track design takes inspiration from several iconic corners from around the world, it is one that proves popular with the drivers.

The opening sector is where most of the high-speed action takes place after the uphill run to Turn 1. The sweeping Turns 3, 4, 5 and 6 are meant to replicate the famous Maggots and Becketts section at Silverstone.
