Williams has announced that they have appointed a new chief designer and head of design as their bolster their technical department.

David Worner will be joining the team as the new chief designer, with Jonathan Carter taking up the roles of deputy chief designer and head of design. They will be officially their new roles in ‘the near future’, according to the team.

Worner first began working in Formula 1 in 1997 when he joined Arrows as a chief designer and has also worked for Jaguar Racing and Red Bull.

Carter also has a vast amount of experience. He too worked for Arrows, as a design engineer, before joining McLaren.
