Deputy team principal, Claire Williams, has labelled Ferrari’s veto rule as “silly” and wants to see it removed from Formula 1.

Ferrari have made it clear they want to retain their veto right when Formula 1’s new contacts come into force in 2021. It is a right they have had for nearly 40 years.

Scuderia team principal, Mattia Binotto, said the veto helps protect all the teams, but Williams herself was not feeling that protection when asked about whether the rule should stay in place post-2021.

“No, I think it’s just silly, if I can be honest,” Williams said at the FIA press conference in Monaco.
